Physical Therapy

The clinicians at Sebastopol Physical Therapy are highly trained in the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of orthopedic and sports injuries. We know that getting patients back to their active lifestyles is a top priority, and that physical therapy here at Sebastopol Physical Therapy is a great first step in the process.

We take pride in providing one-on-one attention, in a warm and caring environment, to each of the patients that come through our doors. We see a variety of patients each with their own specific needs, daily demands, and personal goals and we take the required time to provide a customized program for each patient.

Our physical therapy team often utilizes the Pilates apparatus and concepts while treating physical therapy patients as a part of their overall rehabilitation program.

*PfilAtes Method is an exercise-based program that rehabilitates the pelvic floor using specific movements that are easily incorporated into an everyday fitness program. It has been extensively researched for the last decade and shown to be effective for improving symptoms of urinary incontinence and bowel incontinence. Each movement utilizes a “hold” interval and “pulsed” interval to promote endurance and coordination for the pelvic floor. Additionally, an added benefit of the PfilAtes Method is that it involves movements that are excellent for lower body strengthening.

**Integrative Manual Therapy — Integrative manual therapy is a bodywork technique using soft tissue manipulation and strain counter strain in order to release tension and trauma in all the tissues of the body, including nerves, muscles, organs, and connective tissue. This technique can be incredibly effective in releasing painful constrictions and nerve pain in the tissues of the body.
